A literature review is usually associated with thesis writing. Literature reviews are also part of project and programme development. A review provides us with what is current in the field and  gaps  that need to be addressed.

This assignment will give you an opportunity to further develop your literature review writing skills. It is a stand-alone assignment, that is, it is not part of wider research agenda or programme.  The review  provides an opportunity to explore culture in the context of your current or past  practice and introduces you to literature that may assist you in a better understanding of personal and professional cultures.

Literature Review:

Explore  specific concepts or ideas that have relevance for you as a nurse in your practice. This may include, but is not limited to, power, values, attitude, ideology, neoliberalism, colonisation, indigeneity, racism, monoculturalism, multiculturalism, self-determination, trust, relationship, hegemony, partnership, cultural safety, cultural respect, cultural security, communication, power.  You may link two or three concepts
