First, having a theft conviction on your record means that you have stolen something from someone and had been charged with theft. With that had happened, most companies wouldn’t like to have people who had stole “thieves” to work in there store/business because how are they supposed to know set person won’t steal from their store/business? Another consequence/setback is having trouble traveling to other countries.

People with theft convictions don’t necessarily qualify for “trusted traveler” programs. Those such as the Global Entry program, the NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST programs. If they are allowed to flight to elsewhere they might be investigated further into their criminal record.

Trouble finding housing is aswell, another consequence/setback of a theft conviction. A landlord may choose to deny your request to live upon his land. “ The “no felony conviction” rental standard is designed to minimize the landlord’s liability risk. That being said, not all landlords will feel this way.” Losing the right to vote could happen if you’ve had a theft conviction. And last but not least financial issues.
